2025 AIChE Annual Meeting

Session: Engineered Biomimetic Models

The focus of this theme is to explore the intersection of cell biology and engineering, with the aim of replicating aspects of the cellular microenvironment. Abstracts that emphasize the use of micro to nanoscale technologies, such as stem cells, microfluidics/organ-on-chip, bioprinting, biomaterials, or computational tools to model cell, tissue, or organ function are highly encouraged. Talks highlighting the intersection and translation of these tools from academic to industrial settings are welcome. This session aims to highlight the application of engineered cellular or computational testbeds towards recreating features of human physiology. This can help to elucidate the underpinnings of development, morphogenesis, or diseased processes, towards drug discovery and pre-clinical studies. Collectively this session aims to foster both basic science advancements and application of microphysiological systems. Faculty candidates for the 2025-2026 academic year are encouraged to submit their abstract to the Division 15 Faculty Candidate Session.
