Fundamental understanding of mass, heat, charge and momentum transfer processes is necessary for the rational design, optimization and scale-up of electrocatalytic technologies. This session encourages submissions focused on understanding and/or optimizing reaction transport processes at multiple scales. The scope of this session ranges from fundamental studies to system-level design of electrochemical reactors and is for a wide range of applications, including energy conversion, energy storage, and production of sustainable fuels and chemicals from natural gas (e.g. electrochemical reforming) and waste feedstocks (e.g. carbon dioxide reduction, nitrate reduction, phosphate recovery). Theoretical, computational and experimental works are all of interest.
