This session will explore the use of chemical and/or catalytic processes to convert renewable feedstocks into bioenergy, biofuels, biochemicals, and/or other biobased products as the alternatives to fossil-derived products. The renewable feedstocks include, but are not limited to, wood, grass, agricultural residues, algae, food waste and sewage waste. The processes will include, but are not limited to, hydrolysis, gasification, pyrolysis, hydrogenation, hydrothermal liquification, catalytic conversion, and microwave/ultrasonic process intensification.
