2025 AIChE Annual Meeting

Session: Advances in Experimental Methods for Protein Engineering

This session features recent advances in experimental strategies that expand the scope of protein engineering across diverse biological systems. Talks will highlight platforms for evolving enzyme specificity and function, approaches for tuning post-translational modification, and methods for expressing and screening proteins in heterologous hosts. Computational frameworks for guiding protein design and tools for investigating protein-protein interactions in cellular environments will also be discussed. Collectively, these contributions demonstrate how new experimental and computational capabilities are driving more scalable, predictive, and application-focused protein design in biotechnology, synthetic biology, and sustainability.
