Methane is a potent greenhouse gas with significant implications for climate change and energy sustainability. With growing regulatory and economic pressures to reduce methane emissions, innovations in sensor technologies, dynamic compressor systems, and data-driven emissions tracking are reshaping industry best practices. This session will explore cutting-edge advancements in methane detection, quantification, mitigation, and conversion technologies. Topics are included but not limited to novel materials for methane capture and separation, innovative reactor designs for methane conversion, and breakthrough technologies that transform waste methane into value-added products, real-time methane monitoring systems, advanced leak detection and repair (LDAR) strategies, AI-based methane technologies, advancements in material development for catalytic and non-catalytic methane conversion, membrane-based separation, and integrated system designs. This session welcomes contributions from experimental, numerical and simulation approaches to better understand methane emissions dynamics, optimize mitigation strategies, and enhance process efficiency.
