This session will address topics of energy storage with an emphasis on emerging materials and new device concepts. This includes advances in synthesis and fabrication techniques for a wide range of materials and promising applications enabled by these new developments, including batteries, supercapacitors, and other energy storage technologies. The particular focus of this session is on technologies that go beyond lithium-ion batteries. Materials of interest span nanomaterials, thin films, and bulk powders, including new materials and new synthesis methods. The session invites experimental and theoretical studies ranging from the molecular level to the systems level.
