In developing new food ingredients for market, it is essential to consider the regulatory requirements to gaining market access at the earliest time point. An overview of the regulatory routes to market will be provided and the key factors to include in a drawing up a regulatory roadmap discussed. These factors include but are not be limited to, the potential hurdles, resources, time frames and costs associated with gaining regulatory acceptance. Acknowledging the global nature of marketing strategies, the presentation will focus mainly on the U.S. but also consider the EU and Canada.
