Over the past decades, entrepreneurship and leadership have been central forces in shaping innovation and driving economic growth. Drawing on lessons from decades of experience, I will highlight how we, as chemical engineers, create value by fostering innovation ecosystems, mobilizing resources, and building networks that accelerate the commercialization of processes, products, and technologies. I will illustrate how cultivating vision, embracing risk, learning from failure, and leading with purpose, all entrepreneurial behavior, are vital for today’s rapidly changing landscape and foundational for shaping innovation.
