Session: Invited Talks: In Honor of Prof. Robert Prud'homme

This invited session is to celebrate the illustrious career of Prof. Robert "Bob" Prud'homme, a distinguished figure in chemical and biological engineering, who transitioned to emeritus status on September 1, 2023. This session pays tribute to Bob’s groundbreaking contributions to global health, particularly through his development of Flash NanoPrecipitation (FNP). Over two decades, Bob’s innovations in drug manufacturing have revolutionized the production of stable, cost-effective medications, significantly impacting treatments for diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, and cancer, and playing a crucial role in the manufacture of COVID-19 mRNA vaccines. Bob's dedication extends beyond his research; his commitment to teaching and mentorship at Princeton University has shaped the next generation of leaders in academia and industry. With over one hundred patents and numerous accolades, including induction into the National Academy of Engineering, National Academy of Inventors and the AIChE Nanoscale Science and Engineering Award, Bob's legacy is both vast and profound. The invited speakers of this session will reflect on his remarkable journey, celebrate his achievements, and explore the enduring impact of his work on science and society.
