This session focuses on addressing uncertainty at the intersection of design and operations. Submissions may include a broad range of topics related Process Systems Engineering (PSE) tools and methodologies for uncertainty in design and operations, including: (i) Novel approaches for quantification and propagation of uncertainty; (ii) New models, methods, and algorithms to incorporate uncertainty; (iii) Novel approaches to solve the resulting problems in process synthesis, design and operations area yielding robust and reliable design for chemical processes; (iv) New approaches for reducing uncertainty, including design of experiments and AI/ML data driven methodologies; (v) Industrial applications of uncertainty quantification to analyze technical risk. Papers that incorporate simulation and optimization are encouraged. Specific contribution to the state-of-the-art should be clearly stated in the abstract.
