(650e) Thermal Transport in 2D Metal Carbides (MXenes)

In this presentation, we will discuss the preparation of 2D metal carbides (MXenes). By chemically exfoliating the MXenes into thin layers with different thickness, we utilize the Raman laser spectroscopy to characterize their in-plane thermal conductivity by comparing and modeling the equilibrium state and transient state thermal transport data obtained by continuous wavelength and pulse laser. The results are one of few first studies of thermal transport in MXene materials and can be extended to other 2D materials as well.
