2017 Annual Meeting

Session: Advanced Treatment for Water Reuse and Recycling

Advanced treatment for water desalination and reuse is becoming increasingly important to meet growing water requirements from municipalities, industry and agriculture. This session will focus on various aspects of water treatment including desalination, closed-loop recycling, and water retreatment and reuse. In many cases, the cost of treating wastewater for reuse or recycle is less than other methods of production and offers the added advantage of conserving water and protecting the environment. Treated wastewater is now being used in agriculture, landscaping irrigation, industrial processes including cooling systems and in hydraulic fracturing. Contributions are sought from industry, municipalities, and academic researchers. Topics of interests include (but are not limited to) novel processes including physical separations, chemical reactions, and biological processes as well as novel approaches for process optimization, energy use reduction, and process integration.
