(243b) Using the FE Exam As an Outcome Assessment Tool

Results from the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam provide both statistically significant comparisons and a rich source of data for deans and department chairs to assess the performance of their own students in comparison to national norms in specific engineering content areas. For faculty working on assessment plans, it is important to know about the reports available from NCEES at no cost to the institution and to understand how to efficiently use the resulting data. This presentation features specific examples of using FE exam results for outcomes assessment.
