Organs-on-Chips Technology: Micro-Engineered System to Emulate Living Human Biology
Author
Dr. Geraldine A. Hamilton, PhD will discuss how the Organs-on-Chips technology is being used to better understand human biology and disease – offering new applications to advance drug development, precision medicine and consumer product design. Organ-Chips - such as the lung, liver, brain or skin - are micro-engineered environments lined with living human cells and tissues. Each chip recreates the natural physiology and mechanical forces that cells experience within the human body.
