Ecoefficiency of Buildings Including Reduction of CO2 Emission in Life Cycle of Building Materials, Elements and Technologies
Author
In the European Union, the building sector is responsible for the consumption of 40 % of the energy and relative emissions of CO2 in a lifecycle. The methodology for the evaluation of building ecoefficiency that includes resource and energy efficiency and efficiency in the reduction of CO2 emission, including CO2 emission in life cycle of building materials, elements and technologies is presented in the example of a new student dormitoryin TU-Klaipeda (Lithuania) being implemented within a framework of the international project LONGLIFE-INVEST. The most important standards being developed by their international staff i.e.: primary energy demand, energy sources from renewable energy, reduction of CO2 emissions, highly minimized lifecycle costs and others are discussed. Evaluation and selection of ecoefficient technologies as task of company, sectorial and regional environmental management system is presented including involvement of all significant actors.
