Author
Callieri, C. - Presenter, AT Kearney
Chemical Industry executives are recognizing the importance of implementing sustainability and social responsibility (SSR) initiatives for their organizations. However, as with any emerging topic there is some debate or confusion about the definition and scope of sustainability or corporate social responsibility. In this brief presentation we will address why these two areas are intimately connected and why chemical industry companies should start with a broad definition of sustainability including economic, environmental and social aspects, in order to define its own corporate definition of sustainability. In a globalized world where supply chains have become increasingly complex and important to production, the Supply Chain will become the litmus test of sustainability for any company. We will outline a guide to evaluating the sustainability of your company supply chain to identify gaps and opportunities, as well as enable the development of an appropriate Supply Chain Sustainability Strategy that is aligned with the broader corporate strategy.
