(8d) Integrated Refinery and Petrochemicals

Numerous studies have documented that integrated refinery and petrochemicals facilities, that process crude oil into fuels and petrochemicals, have a higher return on investment. This presentation takes a fundamental look at what products can be produced starting with crude oil, and what decisions need to made to develop the best facility configuration. Advantages and disadvantages of the options are discussed, and a potential overall configuration is developed.
