Introduction to Refining Economics
Author
Refineries are complex multi-product plants that are the blend of many complex trade-offs. Estimating the value of a feedstock change or process reconfiguration requires evaluation of the entire system. This talk will provide a review of the basic refining economic terms, refinery processes and the factors that drive the economics of operating a refinery. It will be demonstrated how overall system evaluation results differ from local estimates.
