The superconducting qubit platforms have been leading the development for a while, but the quest for scalable error-corrected quantum computing remains an open one. Being an underdog for a long time, photonic measurement-based quantum computing based on highly entangled cluster states is now gaining momentum due to its favorable properties in terms of scalability.

In this talk, I will present the concept of measurement-based quantum computing on cluster states and provide a status on ongoing work at DTU on developing both near-term as well as full fault-tolerant photonic quantum computing systems in the context of national and European innovation and research projects.
