FAST – Pfizer’s journey into API continuous processing

Flexible API Synthesis Technology, otherwise known as FAST, is Pfizer’s Small Molecule Active Pharmaceutical (API) technology strategy. This joint initiative between Worldwide Research and Development (WRD) and Pfizer Global Supply (PGS), the manufacturing and supply division of the company, is delivering the tools needed to implement continuous manufacturing processes. The investment includes new and modified facilities, introduction of new laboratory equipment and provision of modular manufacturing equipment. Cross functional teams are developing guidance and updating existing workflows to support the development and introduction of continuous processes. This presentation will cover all these aspects and conclude with a case study.
