Samples, S. - Presenter, The Water Research Foundation
Climate change is altering our natural hydrologic cycle, creating uncertainty when it comes to the quality and quantity of water sources available to municipalities. There is a need for the water sector to take action to meet their community’s water needs. The Water Research Foundation (WRF) pursues climate change research to help equip utilities with the knowledge and resources they need to combat this uncertainty. WRF’s research takes a holistic, and One Water approach to climate change. This presentation will provide a high-level overview of the three subtopics of climate change research WRF conducts. We will cover climate risk assessment, climate adaptation, and mitigation strategies. At the end of the presentation, the audience will have a better understanding of what types of climate change research is available at WRF, how they can access it, and what opportunities exist to participate in new climate change research.
