Invited Talk: Integrated Agrotechnologies and Microbiome Applications in Urban Farming
Author
Sanjay Swarup - Presenter, National University of Singapore
Food production and food security rely heavily on high levels of crop productivity and resilience of crop production under diverse environmental stresses. In order to better understand and apply the knowledge of plant and their associated microbiomes, we have been using a combination of systems biology approaches to integrate modern life sciences approaches with material science and physics principles. These approaches re leading us to develop strategies for improving plant productivity and stress tolerance. I will summarize our findings based on integrated approaches to show how science-based innovations can be developed to reduce water, chemical and space footprint and increase productivity and quality of produce in urban farming.
