Next-gen consumers are the most value's-driven generational cohort today. They account for less than 20% of the population but have an outsized influence on beauty sales and word of mouth. As this group enters the workforce their values shape more than their purchases. The advent ESG investment portfolios are driving businesses to rethink how they prioritize this consumer's values in their everyday business practices so they are eligible to be a part of these funds. The strength of this consumer, combined with business prioritization of ESG practices, is also lining up with breakthrough technologies that enable entire new approaches for sourcing packaging and raw materials.
