Author
HyResponder is a collaborative project funded by the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2 Joint Undertaking. The project formally commenced in January 2020 and concludes in May 2023. The consortium comprises of 16 partners from across 10 European countries, and includes fire service institutions, international fire and rescue associations, a partner experienced in application of virtual reality for training of fire and rescue services, academic partners with prior experience in the training of responders in hydrogen safety, and representatives of hydrogen industry.
Through HyResponder, clear and updated operational, virtual reality, and educational training for trainers of responders has been developed to reflect the state-of-the-art in hydrogen safety including liquid hydrogen. Digital training resources are available on the HyResponder e-Platform, underpinned by the revised European Emergency Response Guide. The resources are intended to be used to support and inform local and National training, and are available in 8 languages: Czech, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Norwegian and Spanish. Through HyResponder trainers from across Europe have undertaken training which is in turn being used to inform the delivery of regional and National training both within and beyond the project, shaping future training across Europe and enhancing the reach and impact of the programme.
