9th Latin American Conference on Process Safety

Asset Integrity for Aging Plants - Ensuring Safety Operations over Time

Aging can be considered as a negative or undesirable change in equipment that can result in its diminished integrity and reliability. While the aging of equipment has been historically linked to chronological time, this can be misleading. This presentation will focus on: (1) Clarifing the definition of aging and why it is important; (2) Identify how aging occurs (e.g., aging mechanisms); and (3) Providing different strategies for dealing with again equipment in order to ensure the continued safe operations of your facilities and protection of people, the environment, and critical assets over time. The goal is to provide the audience with helpful information to better recognize and understand the aging process, so that you can adopt better strategies to design and operate your facilities in a safe and responsible manner.
