Self-healing technologies which heal either autonomously or by applying some external conditions could significantly increase material/system reliability, reduce life cycle costs, and improve operational safety.
Corrosion resistant self healing coating is the best possible way to find a solution for making a coating which prevents rusting & even heals itself upon getting damaged thereby increasing its lifecycle & reducing the overall cost. Microencapsulation is a process for this purpose where capsules of certain sizes are used. The stabilizer is the outermost layer of capsule filled with healing agent which on cracking polymerizes & hence justifying itâs working.
The hypothesis of considering a composite of GO & PF as a stabilizer improves tribological properties. Upon simulation we wished to convey self healing coating without any intervention to heal both surface scratches & mesoscopic damage. Acrolein formation brought about a change in the reaction of coating Various factors like temperature, pH etc. have a specific range to form the desired coating. This cost effective coating finds its applications in spacecrafts, nuclear reactors where it is environment friendly without utilizing a catalyst.
