Over the course of a 36+ year career a consulting engineer makes all manner of observations and discoveries from which he experiences the occasional epiphany or “a-ha moment”. By themselves, these experiences are anecdotal and seem almost inconsequential, hardly warranting a detailed exposition. However, when combined and assembled together, they reveal patterns: patterns of organizational and individual thought and behavior; patterns deserving exploration and exposition.

This paper explores the to-date experiences, observations and resulting epiphanies of the most unlikely of consulting engineers.
