(32ak) Human Factors in the Process Safety Management of Oil and Gas Industry: Materiality, Integration and Management.
Author
In times when artificial intelligence and big data have increasing prominence, along with the continuous desire for increased efficiency and scale of production and the accelerated search for new technologies and energy matrices, the role of human beings for better performance in the safety of sector's operations needs to be systematically understood, updated and managed, which requires that process safety management systems contain well-established and controlled activities focused on human factors. The work aims to review materiality of human factors for social, environmental and governance performance (ESG) for the oil and gas industry, evaluate the current degree of apparent connection of human factors to its integrated management systems through sustainability reports (GRI) of major companies in the oil and gas industry, and share and propose objective ways to manage activities associated with human factors and process safety in order to increase understanding and engagement about it by stakeholders.
