(89c) Accelerated Risk Reduction Via Enhanced Management System / Shift in Metric Methodology

An enhanced management system for corporate risk associated with the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) process coupled with a shift in the metric methodology resulted in an order of magnitude risk reduction. Development of a non-linear numerical value assigned to HIRA recommendations based on risk matrix location and revised time-lines as a function of risk coupled with enhanced collaboration with the manufacturing leaders drove better risk-reduction decision-making. These changes underpinned a renewed emphasis on a common theme – maximize risk reduction as a function of time and resources.
