(38e) Predicting Structured Packing Performance

Structured packing has become the de facto standard in numerous separation applications. To ensure trouble-free operations, accurate predictions of structured packing performance is imperative. In this presentation the performance of new physics-based models will be demonstrated. It will be shown how these models can be used to identify operating zones where problems could be anticipated. These physics-based models can also be used to explore new packing geometries that could optimize a particular applications.
