The transition towards sustainable transportation fuels and chemical products is critical in addressing global environmental challenges and one particular product that plays a crucial role in this space is "Bio-Ethylene". Ethylene is the largest building block in the petrochemicals value chain. This presentation explores the innovative production of bio ethylene from ethanol, a renewable resource, highlighting the technological advancements and process optimizations that enhance yield selectivity and provide the highest flexibility to process any grade or type of ethanol feedstock.
The presentation delves into the innovative catalytic design, reactor configuration and process advantages that transforms ethanol into high purity bio-ethylene. Key differentiators include the identification of an optimal catalyst, reaction conditions and process integration strategies to minimize the carbon footprint. Management of water plays a key role in optimization of the process and allows high flexibility to process diluted ethanol feedstocks.
