Our global PSM organization relies on Phast modeling for Consequence assessment in PHAs. The majority of scenario hazard levels can be classified using engineering judgment. However, there are several cases which are challenging for a PHA team to accurately quantify. Our global organization has implemented a web application with a simplified the user interface for Phast model inputs while leveraging the same accurate powerful Phast modeling capability.

This tool has been truly impactful in hazard classification. In addition to the powerful Phast modeling capability, we have implemented a SQL database backend. When PHAs are revalidated, the new team can view the previous PHA scenarios and results. They can also copy the previous results directly into the latest study.

Building a user-friendly, data-managed environment around Phast has allowed us to drive consistency across our organization. It has also allowed visibility into frequent materials of concern and quantifying model usage.
