(103a) Integrating Risk Assessments (HAZOP and APP) into Management Dashboards to Optimize Safety in Industry 4.0
Abstract:
Industry 4.0, characterized by the convergence of digital and physical technologies, drives the need for continuous improvement in safety management systems. In this context, this research proposes the integration of traditional risk assessments, such as HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) and APP (Preliminary Hazard Analysis), into dynamic and intuitive management dashboards. Through this approach, we aim to optimize risk managers' decision-making by enabling clear and comparative visualization of analysis results, identification of critical risks, and prioritization of mitigation actions.
The study explores how digitalization, by providing a massive volume of data and advanced analytics tools, can transform risk management. The integration of HAZOP and APP analyses into a unified management dashboard enables:
- Holistic view of risks: The graphical and interactive presentation of analysis results facilitates understanding of the complexity of risks and their interconnections.
- Identification of emerging risks: Continuous data monitoring allows for early detection of new risks associated with the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Prioritization of actions: The use of data analysis algorithms and artificial intelligence enables the classification of risks by order of criticality, assisting in defining the most effective actions for their mitigation.
- Evidence-based decision-making: Managers can make more assertive decisions, based on concrete data and rigorous analyses.
- Improved communication and collaboration: The availability of data and analyses in a collaborative environment facilitates communication between different areas of the company and the involvement of all stakeholders in the risk management process.
In summary, the integration of risk assessments into management dashboards represents a significant advancement in the field of industrial safety, providing a more comprehensive and dynamic view of risks and optimizing decision-making processes. This approach contributes to building a safer, more efficient, and resilient industry.
