(81c) Key Drivers in the Energy Transition: Electrification and Other Clean Energy Solutions

The energy transition presents complex challenges that demand a multi-faceted approach to develop and implement sustainable, reliable, and affordable solutions to reduce carbon emissions. This paper will focus on potential opportunities in terms of electrification and other clean energy solutions such as green hydrogen and ammonia, as well as in the understanding of key constraints and dependencies such as waste heat recovery and impacts on site utilities. Real-world case studies will be examined, showcasing Siemens Energy's experience and solutions that help our customers maximize value and minimize risk when retrofitting existing facilities or building new ones. The paper will highlight some unique project challenges in terms of technical feasibility, project economics, process safety, utility infrastructure and the criticality of timely collaboration required among different stakeholders.
