(181c) Fire and Gas Detection Mapping: What It Is, and Why You Might Want to Do It!
Author
George Ormerod - Presenter, Risktec Solutions (Canada) Ltd
Traditionally the location, number, and type of fire and gas detectors on a facility have been laid out based on engineering judgement and company internal standards. There has never really been a way to quantitatively and rigorously assess whether there are too few, too many, or incorrectly located detectors. Fire and gas mapping allows all of these to be optimized, and this presentation will discuss the methodology, benefits, and drawbacks.
