Session: PAIC Town Hall on AIChE’s Climate Change Policy

In 2024, following an extensive review period, AIChE issued a third revision to its climate change policy. AIChE acknowledges that human activity has produced greenhouse gases contributing to global climate change and recognizes that chemical engineers will play an essential role in developing responsible engineering and economic solutions. The new statement builds upon previous positions and provides strategic objectives for the Institute. At this town hall session, the Public Affairs and Information Committee (PAIC) will present the policy statement updates and discuss our next steps. There are broad and differing views across our membership, as well as different professional and organizational implications. We hold this town hall to provide an open forum and frank dialogue regarding the statement and AIChE’s path forward.
