2025 Spring Meeting and 21st Global Congress on Process Safety
Session: Industry 4.0 - Sensors and Analyzers for Online Measurements
"When you cannot measure it, when you cannot express it in numbers, your knowledge is of a meager and unsatisfactory kind." This quote, by Lord Kelvin, remains relevant for manufacturing industries. In the era of digitalization and data analytics, the source and quality of measurement data itself is sometimes overlooked. More specifically, little attention is given to understanding, from a control and optimization perspective, what measurement data are relevant and expedient to accomplishing the manufacturers' goals of profit, safety, and reliability. In this session analytical scientists and measurement experts will discuss novel online measurement technologies, trends in this space, and key unmet needs as our industry moves toward sustainability.
