Excellence in Process Safety

The Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) is launching “Excellence in Process Safety”. Excellence in Process Safety describes how great process safety is collaboratively delivered by industry, researchers, regulators, academia, and communities worldwide. This launch is a refresh of Vision 20/20 introduced in 2011. The Vision was communicated in conferences, CCPS meetings, in Process Safety Progress, and via direct emails to member companies. Since that time, many new members have joined CCPS, worldwide. While the industry tenets and societal themes of the Vision continue to be relevant, new CCPS members are unfamiliar with the Vision and its purpose. The intent of this paper is to launch a refresh entitled “Excellence in Process Safety” and make clear how it relates to CCPS Risk Based Process Safety.
