Recently, there has been a marked increase in the use of automated modeling tools for wide ranging applications, such as time series forecasting, soft sensors, and predictive modeling. One of these tools, Smart Process Analysis (SPA), has been proposed to be a solution for automated modeling of manufacturing and process data. This tool aims to suggest model types and model regression, with cross validation leading the user thru the process. The proposed tool is benchmarked on some synthetic test cases, as well as an industrial case study on the effect of an additive to the high temperature performance asphalt.The results and discussions of the work will be presented in this talk.
