(127c) Advanced Human Error Reduction in Process Safety

This interactive session discusses the practical application of the concepts of human and organizational performance (HOP) and Advanced Error Reduction in Organizations (AERO) in reducing the number and significance of process safety incidents. We will discuss some basic understandings and the science-bases for human error reduction concepts. We will also discuss the traps people fall into, the triggers that tell you that you are vulnerable to an error, and the tools you can use to reduce the probability.

We have deployed this technology to over 350 organizations, in 40 countries and 12 languages. We have over 350,000 students over the 30 years we have been integrating these concepts, and have amassed over 1.2 million data points on how different people with different personalities see and manage risk.
