The ExxonMobil SAFEpark concept was developed to mitigate the consequences of major reliability incidents potentially originating from utilities, furnace or recovery areas. This paper will introduce the SAFEpark concept and further elaborate on how it was implemented at a greenfield steam cracker in three parts: development, application, and sustainment.
