For the âPlant of the Futureâ, there are a lot of promising options. Some of the future technology ranges from automated start-up, operations and shut-downs to Artificial Intelligence (AI) predicting process outputs and machine failures to remote locations being fully controlled due to internet connected sites. Some future changes could be process technological changes, such as electrification and closed loop economies. Another key point that will have to be addressed is ensuring site security and safety: both physical and electronic.
