(81a) Exxonmobil Baytown Olefins Plant Commissioning Safety Focus

ExxonMobil commissioned an ethylene production facility in Baytown in 2018. Like many ethylene plants, commissioning progressed via a series of steps including water flushing, steam blowing and air blowing. Process and personnel safety during this transient time is a major focus of the commissioning effort. Techniques and strategies for maximizing commissioning effectiveness while minimizing potential safety risks will be outlined in the presentation.
