(204d) Synergistic Utilization of Coal Ash and Biomass Ash Rice Husk Ash for Zeolite and Sorbent Production

A novel continuous process for zeolites production from coal fly ash and biomass ash (including rice husk ash and oat hulls ash) is reported in this paper. The advantages of combining coal ash and biomass ash include 1) flexible Si/Al ratios adjustment; 2) trace elements such as iron and rare earth metals in coal ash can enhance the catalytic effects for certain zeolites. A comparison of batch process and continuous process is presented.
