(118c) Realizing the Digital Enterprise

Industry 4.0 represents the fourth wave of the Industrial Revolution. The previous industrial transformations produced dramatic changes and this one will be even more disruptive. This session will look at how productivity was actually achieved through the previous “revolutions” driven by electrification and automation, then propose the lessons learned on how we can accelerate the benefits of digitalization and avoid the pitfalls which may lead to failure. Recommendations will be offered on realizing the benefits of becoming a digital enterprise based on best practice examples.
