(52a) Strategies for Mitigating Crude Unit Threats

As refiners strive to maximize profitability during low margin periods, reliability is as important as
ever. With that on mind, refiners must recognize the risks and utilize all available tools and resources to
mitigate said risks. Risk mitigation starts at the crude unit. This presentation will review some of the major
issues observed on crude units and discuss both existing and new mitigation strategies.
