(2d) Rigorous Non-Linear Optimization in Dow’s Hydrocarbons Business

This paper presents an overview of Real Time Optimization in Dow Hydrocarbons as applied on the bigger part of Dow’s cracker fleet: the context of RTO, the implemented support model and performance metrics. Also the use of plant models and the modeling approach is outlined. The usage of rigorous non-linear models is justified with data from several models.
