Flash resides at the core of all process simulation software. Multistage separation columns calculation couples the equilibrium equations for the individual stages with overall material balances. Scope of this presentation is to explain the steps involved in single stage isothermal two phase flash. As a part of this presentation, general set of equation which should be satisfied in mostly any phase equilibrium calculations would be covered, stability analysis concept would be explained and working demo of two phase isothermal flash using successive substitution method would be shown using PYTHON programming language.
