Examples of the primary siting regulations for U.S. onshore LNG facilities are 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 193 and NFPA 59A, “Standard for the Production, Storage, and Handling of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)”. The design and siting standard for Europe and some facilities internationally is the European Standard, EN 1473, “Installation and equipment for liquefied natural gas - Design of onshore installations”.
