(171a) Application of Marine Standard Vs Offshore Standard for FLNG Design and Construction

There are strict requirements in designing the FLNG, which can fully satisfy clients and class societies. Appropriate marine standards and compromised applications on design practice of FLNG sometimes turned out that it may not be practical. Fully application of offshore standards may also bring some concerns on FLNG construction.

This paper presents comparison of application of marine standards and offshore standards on FLNG design and construction. This is to enhance understanding the differences between two standards and to guide appropriate application of standards based on DSME design and construction experiences.
